Hello! I'm Heather Scott and I am a freelance video deisgner. Having graduated with First Class Honours in New Media Art, I developed my creative disciplines primarily in animation. Over the past year, I have worked on theatre productions both in Scotland and abroad. I aspire to develop my skills in video design and collaborate on projects which I have real passion and interest in.

What I've been up to

To Wong Foo

October 2023

Role: Animator
  • Worked with video designer Dan Light, I assisted with creating video and static content for the production of 'To Wong Foo'.
  • Using After Effects and Photoshop to create original and collage assets and 2D animations.

Sister Act

September 2023

Role: Projection Designer
  • I produced digital scenic backdrops both static and animated for a school production of ‘Sister Act’ showcased at the Ayr Gaiety Theatre.
  • Working with the director, I independently designed, produced and edited the background images for the show. Utilising Adobe Photoshop and After Effects, stock footage and personally created assets.

NCL: Livin La Viva Loca

August 2023

Role: Video Design Assistant
  • I assisted with designing video content for the updated club nights for the new Norweigan Cruise vessel. Working with video designer George Reeve, I edited a 45-minute performance to both produced tracks and design briefs.
  • Utilising Adobe After Effects, stock footage and personally created assets.

Miss Saigon

June 2023

  • Working with Andrzej Goulding, I assisted with designing digital assets for the new production of 'Miss Saigon'.
  • Utilising Adobe Photoshop and undertaking research work.

Wizard of OZ

November 2022

Role: Video Design Assistant
  • Worked with video designer Douglas O’Connell on the video design for the new production of 'Wizard of Oz' for both the Leicester run and the West End production.
  • Using After Effects and 3D software to create backdrops and scenic elements, creating original video and working with a mixture of green screen footage.

  • I provided assistant work with researching and creating video content for the production of 'Time Traveler's Wife'.
  • Working again with video designer Andrzej Goulding.

Burn

Role: Video Design Assistant
  • For the 2022 production of 'Burn', I assisted in the video creation for the entire performance, developing my skills in animation, film and editing in a different industry.
  • This experience has taught me insight into the creation of theatre productions and honed my own understanding of creative work in a professional and collaborative setting.
